The Ivorian Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development proceeded Thursday in Abidjan, to the signing of an agreement with the agri-food group Nestlé Côte d'Ivoire to promote the circular economy in the country.

This new partnership is part of the promotion of the circular economy and green jobs in Côte d'Ivoire. This agreement concerns in particular two ivorian public service entities. These are the Directorate of Green Economy and Social Responsibility of Organizations (DEVRSO), and the Ivorian Anti-Pollution Center (CIAPOL), two structures under the supervision of the Ivorian Ministry of environment and sustainable development.
According to Professor Joseph Séka Séka, Minister of Environment and Sustainable Development, who welcomed the signing of this agreement, Côte d'Ivoire's economic growth cannot be sustainable without taking environmental issues into account in development policies and projects.
Welcoming the fact that this agri-food group has understood all the economic, environmental and social stakes of this environmental policy, the Minister invited economic operators operating in the country "to respect environmental measures and to set up an environmental policy accompanied by innovative ecological projects".
"In the fight against plastic, our group has also set itself a very ambitious goal of making 100% of our packaging recyclable or reusable by 2025 so that none of our packaging ends up in nature," promised Thomas Caso, CEO of Nestlé Côte d'Ivoire.
