The deputies of the current legislature met this Tuesday, November 10, 2020 at the seat of the hemicycle on behalf of the tenth plenary session of the second ordinary session of the year 2020. With as main agenda the study and adoption of the draft budget of the National Assembly, management 2021.

At the request of 50 deputies and in accordance with the provisions of article 95 paragraph 1 of the Togolese Constitution and 50 paragraph 2 of the Rules of Procedure of the National Assembly, the study of the draft budget of the Parliament, management 2021, took place behind closed doors. The study was chaired by the Speaker of the National Assembly, Yawa Djigbodi Tsegan. This 10th plenary session saw the participation of 70 mePs out of the 91 on Tuesday 10 November.

The National Assembly of Togo enjoys financial autonomy, it establishes its budget which is an integral part of the budget of the State of Togo. The Togolese Parliament also has control over its agenda and budget. It just informs the executive. The Minister of Human Rights, Christian Massia Trimua, was the Government Commissioner during this session which provides Parliament with financial resources to play its constitutional role.
