Since August 28, a campaign to raise awareness among Beninese youth about the risks of their indoctrination and recruitment by violent extremists and terrorists has been held in Natitingou. This awareness session will end on Friday, ^September 1.

The populations are now involved in the mechanisms to fight for the eradication of these scourges, which extend beyond the Sahel areas to coastal areas alongside institutional actors. This campaign is part of the implementation of the Project to Support the Strengthening of Social Cohesion, the Prevention of Extremism and the Fight against Conflicts Related to Transhumance; a project financé by the Kingdom of the Netherlands and the Programme of United Nations for Development (UNDP). During this campaign, discussion panels are held to discuss the best strategies, take ownership of the concepts of violent extremism and define the directions to be given in the fight against violent extremism
