In order to effectively fight corruption, Burkina Faso has set up structures. These are the Higher Authority for State Control and Combating Corruption (ASCE-LC) and the National Anti-Corruption Network (REN-LAC). The e executive secretary of REN-LAC Sagado Nacanabo gave clarifications on the progress of the

fight to date.

La 23e assemblée générale ordinaire de REN-LAC was held on August 17, 2023. According to the Executive Secretary, an overview of the structure's activities during this meeting shows that 90.9% of the activities were able to be carried out with a budgetary implementation rate of 72%. According to the latter, 287 awareness-raising activities were carried out and 33 municipalities in 25 provinces covered. 651 complaints or denunciations were received in 2022 and all of them were dealt with. Of these, 277 have been resolved, 253 are still being processed, and 65 have been transferred to better empowered structures, such as the Gendarmerie, ASCE-LC and MBDHP, and 56 complaints have been dismissed or

abandoned.

According to Sagado Nacanabo, the national days for the rejection of corruption were organized in December 2022 under the theme “corruption and the fight against terrorism”. “Since these days of refusing corruption, on all our reception channels, there has not been a day when we do not receive complaints or denunciations. Even on my personal phone, I get complaints,” he said. According to the latter, “we have reached an unprecedented level of denunciations in the fight against corruption”.
