On Tuesday, October 21, Gabon was subject to the second review cycle of the implementation mechanism of the United Nations Convention United Against Corruption (UNCAC).

Evaluation is part of a strong commitment of the transitional authorities. It will focus on two major areas, in particular: measures to prevent corruption and asset recovery illicit. According to the President of the National Commission of the fight against corruption and illicit enrichment (CNLCEI), Nestor Mbou, “it is the first line of defense that requires a critical review of our institutions, our codes of conduct for public officials, our practices in the area of public procurement and the management of public finances. We have to identify structural vulnerabilities and provide lasting remedies to build a strong and ethical Nation.”
