It was part of the fight against corruption.
At the beginning of last week, the Central Office for Combating Corruption and Enrichment of Mali received a strong delegation from the Higher Authority for State Control and Anti-Corruption (ASCE-LC) of Faso led by its president, the State Comptroller General Nion Phillipe Neri Kouthon. The aim of this visit is to seal a partnership and act as one man against corruption and illicit enrichment.
According to the president of the Higher Authority for State Control and Anti-Corruption (ASCE-LC), Burkina wants to go to school in Mali. “We came to learn, we came to share,” he said. Moumouni Guindo believes that this agreement between Oclei and ASCE-LC will allow the two countries to strengthen and pool the means to fight corruption and illicit enrichment. It is an opportunity “to go beyond borders to identify compromised assets, seize them, recover them and return them to populations who have been temporarily deprived of these resources.” There is therefore no border between Mali and Burkina when it comes to the fight against corruption and financial crime.
