For the financial balance and sustainability of the pension management system for civil servants and public employees, the fight against document fraud is a strategic challenge. This is what led the Social Insurance Institution-General Retirement Fund for State Employees (IPS-CGRAE) to initiate a seminar on 13 and 14 October 2022 on this issue, in Assinie.

The two-day seminar was attended by Epiphane Zoro Bi Ballo, Minister for the Promotion of Good Governance and the Fight against Corruption and was chaired by Minister of Employment and Social Protection, Adama Kamara. According to Apanews, the Social Insurance Institution-General Retirement Fund for State Employees (IPS-CGRAE) intends to strengthen the system for drawing up and verifying the documents constituting social benefits files in order to avoid fraud. Indeed, discussions are under way in order to lead to concrete solutions to combat document fraud and best practices in this area. “We must continue to mobilize, to keep ourselves informed and to intervene in a collaborative spirit in order to significantly reduce the impact of this scourge that is still plaguing our society”, concluded Adama Kamara.

The managing director of IPS-CGRAE, Abdrahamane T. Berté, for his part, considers that “The fight against document fraud is therefore a strategic challenge for financial balance and the sustainability of the public pension management system.” The IPS-CGRAE has benefited from the technical support of several institutions, ministries, judicial bodies, human resources directors, civil registration and identification bodies, as well as associations of pensioners and unions of civil servants and State employees in order to to better lead this fight.
