Faced with the struggle that has been going on for years, data exchange now appears to be a more or less effective solution. The issue was at the center of the Forum of CEOS of the Association of Electricity Companies of Africa (ASEA) which was held this Monday, July 18, 2022 in Dakar.

The ASEA expert who raised the issue, believes that African electricity companies are not yet ready to deal with this phenomenon. According to him, 70% of the incidents occur on a known vulnerability that is two to three years old. ASEA is therefore called upon to encourage data sharing between utilities to prevent any threat or attack that could compromise the supply of this input. This, in his opinion, will consist of harmonizing the collection of data to have quality information for better decision making.

Fight against cyberattacks: Data exchange as a solution
