As part of a training session initiated by the Civil Forum, several local elected officials in the Louga region received training on the mechanisms for collecting local taxation. This training workshop was held yesterday, Tuesday, October 17, 2023.

The coordinator of the Louga section of the Civil Forum, Mouhamed Gning indicated that the training workshop initiated by the Civil Forum “aims to support municipalities, municipalities so that they have solid levers for good harmonization, a good local taxation policy or even better mobilization of fiscal resources”. For the latter, “we cannot talk about taxation without the involvement of the population (...), the first people to pay taxes”. Mouhamed Gning said that “thanks to this training, we can hope for positive results to support the State in collecting taxes. Today, taxation is one of the key levers on which we must rely to make progress
