U.S. gold futures rose 0.2% to $2,000.20, while spot gold rose 0.1% to $1,991.14 per ounce at 0018 GMT. Gold, a safe haven, tends to appreciate in time of economic or financial uncertainty, while rising interest rates also reduce the attractiveness of zero-return assets.
For other precious metals, cash rose by 0.1% to $24.92 per ounce, while platinum fell by 0.1% to $1,088.23. Palladium fell 0.3% to $1,507.62
