Lomé hosted a national workshop on Friday, March 27, 2026, focusing on debt recovery issues and the presentation of innovations introduced in the new law regulating microfinance in Togo.

The workshop in Togo aimed to establish a clear and precise diagnosis to identify the root causes of portfolio quality degradation and the inefficiency of current debt recovery mechanisms. This will lead to the adoption of innovative recovery mechanisms to help the sector overcome its difficulties. The meeting was co-organized by the Ministry of Finance and Budget and the Central Bank of West African States (BCEAO).

The national workshop for the microfinance sector on debt recovery issues, which took place, aims to strengthen the resilience of the microfinance sector in Togo. Discussions focused on optimizing recovery procedures, strengthening risk analysis, and implementing ongoing financial reforms. The meeting allowed stakeholders to conduct a more in-depth and concerted reflection on the topic, in an environment marked by new provisions and regulations in force.
