The Minister of Economy and Finance Adama Coulibaly and the President of EBID (ECOWAS Bank for Investment and Development) George Agyekum Donkor initialed on August 30, 2022, theagreement on the financing of the project to upgrade operating theatres, neonatal resuscitation units and imaging services in reference hospitals in Côte d'Ivoire and that on the agro-industrial pole in the north (2PAI-North).

With a total cost of 37.128 billion CFA francs, the first project aims to bring reference hospitals in 25 health regions up to standard and improve their technical facilities. The project, explained Minister Adama Coulibaly, will make it possible to increase by 41.67% the number of operating theaters that meet standards; to strengthen the capacities of maintenance services in the target health districts; to improve the functionality and quality of imaging services; and to improve the quality of the medical equipment. and quality of imaging services, laboratory services and neonatal resuscitation units, and to strengthen the capacities of the target referral institutions in terms of quality human health resources.

As for the second project, particularly the one relating to the agro-industrial pole in the north, it has received financing of CFAF 30 billion. The objective of 2PAI-North is to increase private investment in the processing of targeted agro-sylvo-pastoral and fishery products, including rice, corn, meat, fish, cashew nuts, mango and shea. It will facilitate access to markets for agro-pastoralists; increase the productivity of agro-pastoral sectors by upgrading hydro-agricultural facilities and facilitate access to agricultural inputs and services and better community resilience.
