Until then Executive Director, Miriam Olusanya is now the Managing Director of Nigerian Bank Guaranty Trust Bank. The nomination was announced on Wednesday, July 14, 2021.

Miriam Olusanya will be the first woman to lead the bank since its inception in 1990. The new boss of GTBank has more than 23 years of experience in the banking sector. She has served in various units including transaction services, financial markets, corporate finance and investor relations, among others. She joined GTBank in October 2004 as Treasurer and rose through the ranks in strategic leadership positions. Prior to her recent appointment, the MBA in Finance and Accounting was responsible for banking services. She also serves on the Board of Directors of Guaranty Trust Bank (Gambia) Limited as a non-executive director.
