The Seychelles' Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Tourism, Sylvestre Radegonde announced that Seychelles signed the Samoa Agreement on Wednesday, which constitutes a framework for relations between the European Union (EU) and the Organization of African, Caribbean and Pacific States ( OECAP)

The Seychelles' agreement was signed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Tourism. This partnership agreement succeeds the Cotonou Partnership Agreement signed in 2000. It will serve as a new legal framework for the EU's relations with 79 countries, including 47 African countries, 16 Caribbean countries, 15 Pacific countries, as well as the Maldives. The agreement is part of the objective of strengthening the capacity of the EU and the ACP countries to tackle global challenges together.

It highlights key areas of partnership encompassing human rights, democracy, governance, peace and security, human and social development, sustainable and inclusive economic growth and development, environmental sustainability, climate change, migration, and mobility.
