Le vendredi 14 juillet 2023, le Conseil Board of Directors of the African Development Bank (BAD) a accordé un prêt de 63.09 million euros in Cameroon. The aim was to finance the project to support the Promotion of Entrepreneurship and the Improvement of Skills in Support of Industrialization (PEAC).

The lack of qualified human resources in Cameroon jeopardizes the industrialization process and the development of the economy's growth sectors. Indeed, the project on the agenda will enable the Cameroonian private sector to be engaged alongside the State in several actions. The aim will be to build modern technical and vocational training infrastructures, strengthen the capacities of actors and the education system, and promote entrepreneurship among young people and women through technical and financial support. Also, there will be a question of removing the constraints on employment by focusing on employability and the promotion of entrepreneurship

.

The project will cover five regions of Cameroon including the Center, the Littoral, the South, the South-West and the Far North. Its objective is to develop the skills necessary for the needs of the Cameroonian economy and to promote entrepreneurship and the employment of young people and women in the promising sectors of construction, transport, energy, agribusiness, green jobs and ICT. To cover the rest of the financing of the project, which has a total cost of 64.93 million euros, multinational partners, the private sector and the country's State will contribute around 2

million euros.
