Oil takes advantage of the weak dollar and approaches its highs. Oil prices ended higher on Thursday.

Still taking advantage of a drop in reserves in the United States as well as a weaker dollar, to approach their recent peaks, the barrel of Brent crude from the North Sea for delivery in September ended up 1.75% or $1.31, to $76.05, in London. In New York, the barrel of WTI rose by 1.71% or 1.23 dollars, to 73.62 dollars. Often linked to variations in its currency of exchange and quotation, oil then gained even more ground. It closed close to its session highs, within gunshot of the highs seen in early July. WTI had then reached $76.98 a barrel and Brent, $77.84, levels not seen since November 2014 and October 2018 respectively.
