The Ministry of Finance of Senegal announced that it has signed two new financing agreements for the 2nd phase of the TER. These agreements were signed under the collaboration of the Arab Bank for Economic Development in Africa (BADEA) and the Islamic Development Bank (IDB)

.

The Senegalese Regional Express Train (TER) project is receiving more funding to finalize them within the announced deadlines. BADEA is providing a $50 million loan, while the IDB has granted a $40 million package. The IDB agreement will also be used for projects in the sectors of agriculture, energy, hydraulics, etc. The two agreements came shortly after the signing, on 31 October last, of a financing agreement with the BOAD (West African Development Bank) for a amount of 35 billion CFA francs (FCFA) in order to finalize the work in progress for phase 2 of the project, which should be operational by the end of December

.

In reality, phase 2 of the TER consists of an extension of the network over 19 km from Diamniadio to Blaise Diagne Airport in Dakar (AIBD).
