The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia organized the first ministerial meeting of anti-corruption law enforcement agencies in OIC member states in Jeddah on 20 and 21 December 2022. This was for the purpose of adopting the Makkah Al-Mukarramah Convention.

The two-day meeting addressed crucial topics, namely the approval of the Makkah Al-Mukarramah Convention in the field of anti-corruption forces in the member States of the OIC, the second largest international organization after the United Nations, with 57 members.

Indeed, the question on the convention aims to achieve several objectives, including strengthening cooperation between anti-corruption agencies (information exchange, investigation of cross-border corruption crimes, prosecution of perpetrators, preventing perpetrators of find refuge in member countries and facilitate the recovery of the proceeds of these crimes and technical assistance from member countries).
