The president of the Suez Canal Economic Zone Authority (SC Zone), Walid Gamal el Din, witnessed the signing of a contract on Tuesday, October 8, at the signing of a contract to launch the first phase of the Pyramids Alu project. This involves the production, in the Sokhna industrial zone, of aluminum frames used in the installation of solar panels, according to a press release from the SC

The first phase of the project involves the construction, within two months, of a factory on an area of 5,000 m2 with investments of 1.8 million dollars, or about 90 million Egyptian pounds. The plant is expected to provide 42 direct jobs, according to SC Zone.

The Pyramids Alu factory is the result of a partnership between the Egyptian Alu Afric and the Chinese Alu Pro, and aims to reach a production capacity of 1750 tons per month. The raw materials used in manufacturing are 100% local and will be supplied by the Egyptian partner, according to the press release.

“The project is in line with the goals of the economic zone in terms of locating complementary industries for the production of green energies”, emphasized Gamal el Din.
