Industrial production in the UEMOA zone: An increase of 5% recorded at the end of September 2022

After a 2.6% increase in August 2022, industrial production increased by 5.0% year on year. At least that's what he la BCEAO says in his November 2022 “Economic Situation Note”.

The increase was mainly driven by stronger manufacturing output (+3.0 percentage points compared with +1.4 points in the previous month), especially rubber and plastics (+2.2 points) and refined petroleum products & eacute; s (+0.8 percentage points) according to BCEAO .

La BCEAO also added that an increase was recorded in the production of extractive activities (+1.2 points compared with +0.9 points). ). The seasonally adjusted industrial production index (CVS) increased by 0.7% in September 2022, after a monthly increase of 2.5% the previous month.

On the other hand, the strengthening of industrial activities is attributable to manufacturing industries (+1.0 percentage point contribution) and to the production of electricity, water and gas (+0.5 percentage point contribution).
