On July 15, 2022, the Board of Directors of the African Development Bank Group approved a grant of 5.4 million US dollars to Niger to finance agricultural production.

Help people cope with the rising food prices that are soaring on the international market as a result of the war in Ukraine. This is what this ADB donation to Niger is aimed at. It is part of the African Emergency Food Production Facility, an endowed with 1.5 billion US dollars, which the Bank Group supported on May 20, to strengthen the continent's food sovereignty. The facility to provide agricultural seeds to 20 million farmers on the continent. The varieties concerned are wheat, rice, maize and soybeans. Over the next two years, it will produce 38 million tons of additional food, worth $12 billion.
