The European country is indeed seeking to reduce its dependence on Russian gas, as soon as possible.
The government of Congo-Brazzaville signed, on Thursday, April 21, a memorandum of understanding with the Italian company Eni, to increase the volumes of gas delivered to Italy, as well as the strengthening of fuel production in Congo. This second component includes a plan to build a liquefied natural gas (LNG) production plant, capable of supplying 3 million tonnes of LNG per year. The start of the project is scheduled for next year.
