Contemporary Amperex Technology Co., Limited (CATL) is partnering with Indonesian companies ANTAM and IBI on the Indonesia EV Battery Integration Project in Indonesia. With a joint investment of nearly $6 billion, the project focuses on nickel mining and processing, battery materials, battery manufacturing and recycling.

The partnership between CATL and Indonesia marks an important milestone in expanding CATL's international footprint and will promote the electric vehicle industry in Indonesia. A tripartite framework agreement has been reached with PT Aneka Tambang (ANTAM) and PT Industri Baterai Indonesia (IBI) to cooperate in the EV battery integration project in Indonesia, which includes nickel mining and processing, EV battery materials, battery manufacturing and recycling. With a joint investment of US$5.968 billion, the project is located in the East Halmahera FHT Industrial Park in North Maluku Province, as well as other locations across the country.
