As part of the celebration of International Women's Day, the 2023 Awa Prize organized by Enabel for the promotion of female entrepreneurship and leadership was awarded to two winners from Benin.

Adétola Danielle Adanalawo, promoter of Ilèwa, a company that manufactures reusable sanitary pads and washable diapers for babies, and Alida Ahouandjinou, promoter of the company Oyayi, which offers natural herbal remedies, are the laur& Beneficiaries of the 2023 Awa Prizes on Friday 8 March. It is a driving force in fighting poverty, promoting gender equality, and accessing decent jobs. The 2023 edition of the Awa Prize, focused on the green and circular economy, highlighted 12 exceptional women entrepreneurs in 8 partner countries including Benin. Through their initiatives, these women actively contribute to the protection of the environment and integrate sustainable practices in various sectors of activity.”
