The management of protected areas and biodiversity in regional environmental policies and strategies in the UEMOA-ECOWAS region and Mauritania were at the heart of rsquo; a technical meeting to evaluate interim reports.

The regional policies of ECOWAS and UEMOA were adopted by the Conference of Heads of State and Government in 2008. To succeed in the mission, the European Union financed the two institutions to the tune of 55 million euros, or 36,025,000,000 CFA francs, for environmental governance and the protection of mangrove forests in the territory of ECOWAS and Mauritania. Note that the defined vision is that until 2050 the region must be able to translate regional policies into strategic axes based on a shared vision.
