On March 6, 2023, Gabonese reinsurance company (SCG-Ré) received a delegation from Burkina Faso. She came to understand her managerial model and to be inspired by the development strategy that allowed her, in particular, to be listed on the Central African Securities Exchange (BVMAC) this year.

As part of sharing experience on the establishment and management of a national reinsurance company, Burkina Faso spent twelve years of dreams, challenges, risks and success, wishing to imitate the Gabonese Commercial Reinsurance Company. Indeed, a delegation led by Boubakar Ouedraogo has been staying in Libreville since March 6, 2023, to learn about the approach taken by Gabon to set up a reinsurance company, in order to strengthen the South-South partnership between Gabon and the country of “Honest Men”.

This mission will lead professionals from the Burkina Faso Ministry of Economy and Foresight to exchange information and advice with players in the insurance sector in the national market. Selon le chargé de mission du ministre de l' Économie et de la Prospective du Burkina Faso, Boubakar Ouedraogo, “la SCG-Ré is an inspirational model. For us, it is a question of learning from this success and going to replicate the same thing in Burkina Faso. At SCG-Ré, they built a project, they believed in this project and they had the support of all the authorities so that this project was born and grew. We will be inspired by this journey made by SCG-Ré to also live up to the expectations placed in us by our highest authorities, to create this company in Burkina Faso.”
