Regarding demand, the ANSD notes that there was a quarterly decrease of 1.7% in final consumption and a 1.8% increase in gross capital formation.
"Economic activity, in the fourth quarter of 2020, contracted by 1.3% compared to the fourth quarter of 2019. This underperformance is reflected in the secondary sector (-2.2%) and the tertiary sector (-2.8%). The good performance of the primary (+5.2%) mitigated this decline," she continues.
It indicates that on a year-on-year basis, a 1.7% increase in gross capital formation and a 3.5% fall in final consumption were recorded.
Gross domestic product in value is estimated at CFAF 3,076.7 billion in the fourth quarter of 2020.
