On Thursday, December 1, 2022, a joint mission of the insurance financial mediator and the National Agricultural Insurance Company in Senegal met in Diourbel through the public information meeting. A meeting organized at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry to discuss the insurance mediation system with agricultural producers and ranchers. On occasion, local actors called for the reopening of an agency in the region.

Amadou Kane Diallo, the insurance financial mediator has declared that this is a joint dual mission with the National Agricultural Insurance Company and the facilitation of the Financial Services Quality Observatory. The objective is to popularize the mediation system housed at the level of the Financial Services Quality Observatory but also to promote agricultural insurance.

According to him, “in 2009, the State created all these institutions, namely the Oqsf, the banking and insurance mediators and the National Insurance Company of Senegal, to put them at the disposal of the population. ”. These little-known institutions have been set up to help increase their resilience in the face of calamities.

The meeting allowed Omar Cissé Sow, technical director of the National Insurance Company of Senegal, to present all of their products to the population. The latter have largely returned to the need to reopen an agency in Diourbel. This concern was shared by Oumar Ndiaye, the deputy in charge of administrative affairs, who said “we are asking for the reopening of an agency in Diourbel, an agricultural region that deserves to have its own branch. We will write a letter to the Director General of Cnaas so that the structure in Diourbel can be reopened.”
