The work of the life insurance fair was closed by an important panel on the theme: “Innovation and insurance inclusion”. This session brought together key figures from Senegalese financial and insurance sector, under the supervision of Mamadou Dème, Director of Insurance at the Ministry of Finance and Budget.

The latest insurance show panel brought together Around the table Fara Sarr (CEO of Sunu Life Insurance), Me Thierry Diouf (lawyer at Laman Partners), Amadou Kane Diallo (Insurance Mediator), Kalidou Diallo (CEO of CGF Bourse), and Mamadou Guèye (Deputy CEO of CGF Bourse), and Mamadou Guèye (Deputy CEO) from Everest Finance) shared their visions and proposals to transform the Senegalese insurance landscape.

According to Mamadou Dème, “innovation and financial inclusion are not secondary options.” They the qualify as “structuring pillars of our financial sovereignty”. He has emphasized the strategic role of these concepts for the mobilization of domestic savings, essential to the achievement of Senegal's Agenda 2050, aimed at building a prosperous and resilient nation.

Also, the latter highlighted the potential considerable portion of the Senegalese market, especially the informal sector (90% of jobs) and rural areas, which are often excluded from the traditional financial system. According to him, insurance inclusion is not limited to a social aspect; it is an economic strategy that makes it possible to broaden collection bases, diversifying risks, and strengthening household resilience, while financing the national economy on a sustainable basis.

For her part, Fara Sarr from Sunu Life Insurance, developed the idea that innovation is not only technological, but also social. He highlighted the importance of personalize services to meet the specific needs of customers, especially those on low incomes or in the informal sector.
