The National Office for Electricity and Drinking Water (ONEE) is committed to building on its partnership with the African Development Bank (BAD) in the energy sector in Morocco. It was on the occasion of a meeting between the Director General of ONEE, Abderrahim El Hafidi, and the Vice President of the African Development Bank (BAD ), Kevin Kariuki, in charge of the Electricity, Energy, Climate Change and Growth Complex green, last Tuesday in Rabbat

The two partners expressed their strong desire to further strengthen their partnership, in particular through the implementation of innovative financing methods adapted to projects to extend and strengthen the national electricity transport network. The ONEE said in a statement that this meeting is part of the examination of the Xlinks project to supply the United Kingdom with electrical energy, from renewable sources, through an HVDC submarine link of about 3,800 km in length. The total amount of loans allocated to ONEE by the BAD for electricity projects is approximately 1.2 billion euros, of which almost 70% are intended to finance the integrated wind program, hydroelectric projects, the program for global rural electrification and at the Ain Béni Mathar thermo-solar power plant
