On Tuesday, October 28, 2025, the launch of the first edition of the National Cybercrime Week. An initiative that marks a major step in the promotion of vigilance and digital security.

Under the theme “Building Resilience National response to cybercrime: an imperative for peace and security and the digital sovereignty of Burkina Faso”, the National Week of Struggle against cybercrime aims to raise awareness, train and mobilize actors institutional, technical and community organizations around the security challenge digital and national resilience in the face of cyber threats.

The Minister of Justice, Me Edasso Rodrigue BAYALA, sponsor of the event, highlighted the legal dimension and ethics of this struggle, while announcing that reforms are under way to adapt the legal arsenal to new forms of digital crime. For the latter, “the fight against cybercrime is not limited to technical; it is also and above all a legal, ethical and citizen.”

This first edition of the National Week of fight against cybercrime, will be structured around sessions of communication and awareness-raising sessions. It illustrates the will of the ministry. of Security to make cybersecurity a national priority.

In his speech Opening remarks, Mr. Minister of Security, Mahamadou SANA emphasized the strategic dimension of cybersecurity for a nation and invited each citizen to become an actor in collective vigilance. For him, “the Cybersecurity is no longer just a matter for specialists. It is an issue security and national sovereignty.”
