On Tuesday, October 04, 2022, the Beyond the Grid Fund for Africa (BGFA) program announced that it had signed an agreement with the off-grid energy service company Easy Solar Ltd for support the scaling up of high quality solar home systems and appliances in Liberia Its first round of open financing in the DRC a few months ago had aroused great interest among energy service providers in the off-grid sector.

Since its establishment in Liberia, Easy Solar has established more than 7,000 energy service subscriptions, providing approximately 50,000 people have access to energy. With the financing agreement offered by BGFA on Tuesday, October 4, the company will intensify its business activities using a consumer payment business model. For example, it plans to establish more than 9,000 new subscriptions over a four-year period.
