SONABHY: Burkina Faso successfully issues its first debt securitization mutual fund

The Regional Securities Exchange (BRVM) has registered the first listing of Securitization Mutual Fund bonds of claims from the Burkinabe National Hydrocarbon Company (SONABHY). La ceremony took place on Thursday, January 22, 2026 in the presence of the representative the CEO of the BRVM, Moussa Davou, and the representative of the president CEO of Joseph Titrisation, Jean Wiliam Kouman.

The quotation of bonds of the Common Fund of securitization of SONABHY's claims, called FCTC SONABHY 8.10% 2025-2031, constitutes a major financial innovation and opens a new path for mobilization of resources at the service of the national economy. The ceremony has was marked by the speeches of the Company's Capital Market Director Burkinabe Financial Intermediation Officer (SBIF), Gisèle Colgo, and the representative by the director general of SONABHY, Mouni Nikiéma. Through a process of transfer of receivables combined with a public offering, SONABHY was able to converting an existing debt into cash, while offering investors a new secure bond investment opportunity.

The success of the operation was quickly confirmed in terms of mobilizing savings. While the original amount wanted was fixed at 30 billion CFA francs, subscriptions have reached 34.34 billion CFA francs, i.e. a coverage rate of 114%. Ce underwriting level testifies to the confidence of investors in the system put in place, but also in the quality of signature of the State Burkinabe and SONABHY.

On behalf of the Director General of BRVM, Moussa Davou, indicates that this operation testifies to the capacity and commitment of the State to finance the national economy on a sustainable basis.

Geographically, the operation recorded the participation of investors from several countries, in particular Benin, Burkina Faso, Ivory Coast, Senegal, Togo, but also France and Luxembourg, reflecting an appreciable diversification of the base of underwriters internationally.
