With the aim of financing and supporting businesses in Côte d'Ivoire, Burkina Faso and Senegal via the Banque Atlantique network, Atlantic Business International (ABI) and the European Investment Bank (EIB) have concluded a 65 million euro agreement.

The financing agreement between ABI, the holding company of the Banque Centrale Populaire (BCP) group in sub-Saharan Africa, and its partner EIB will extend cooperation between BCP and the EIB to the region's small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) market. The agreement will finance SME and mid-cap company projects, with a focus on those that play an important role in job creation, with the overall objective of maintaining around 7,500 jobs. As part of this strategic partnership, the EIB loan to ABI will mobilise up to €130 million in financing for Ivorian, Senegalese and Burkinabe businesses, giving priority to SMEs.
