The digital revolution is underway in Nigeria. And as proof, the Executive Vice President of the Commission, Professor Umar Garba Danbatta, revealed that broadband penetration in Nigeria has reached 44.5%.

Broadband usage in Nigeria rose from 40.9% in February 2022 to 44.5% in July. According to the Commission's Executive Vice President, Professor Umar Garba Danbatta, emerging technologies and advances in the sector would encourage the commission to match these developments with appropriate regulations and guidelines.

“With technological advances anticipated in the coming years, a proliferation of devices is expected in the industry. It is therefore essential for the Commission to ensure that the appropriate regulatory frameworks are able to deal with such eventualities”, he says. These advances are, it is believed, the result of the Commission's regulatory efficiency and the targeted implementation of the policies and strategies of the Federal Government of Nigeria.
