In a ranking of countries in mobile transaction value of money, Senegal ranks 3rd in the WAEMU area. According to statistics made public by the ecofin agency, transactions are up 37.1% compared to 2019.

34,914.8 billion FCFA ($63 billion), this is the amount of mobile transactions carried out by the 12 authorized electronic money institutions (EME) in the WAEMU zone. The amount concerns transactions of the year 2020. The 12 EMEs are divided into 4 countries of the sub-region in this case Benin, Burkina Faso, Côte d'Ivoire, Mali and Senegal. In this ranking, Senegal ranks 3rd. Côte d'Ivoire, which totals 7 of the 12 EMEs in the WAEMU zone, ranks first. It is followed by Burkina Faso, Mali is 4th and Benin 5th.
