industrial for the processing of cereals (UTRACER SARL), a factory
Modern event dedicated to the valorization of local maize took place on Friday 19 December
2025 in the city of Kaya.
Led by entrepreneur El Hadji Bassiro Kiemtoré,
the project for the construction of the Industrial Unit for the transformation of
Cereals is fully in line with the national processing vision
local, job creation and food sovereignty. Indeed, UTRACER
SARL is a Burkinabe company specialized in agro-industry, with a
particular emphasis on the processing and valorization of maize. She is
positions itself as a strategic link between local producers and the
consumer market, by placing on the market products intended for
human food, infant nutrition and animal husbandry. Its mission is
to transform local maize into high quality agri-food products
respecting strict health standards, while contributing sustainably to
national food security. His vision is to become a leader in
maize processing in West Africa, recognized for the excellence of its
products and their social impact.
The factory in Kaya is equipped with facilities modern including sorters, grinders, silos, mixers, granulators, steamers, baggers and labellers. It has a capacity of processing 50 tonnes of raw maize per day, i.e. 50 tonnes every 24 hours, with an estimated flour yield between 70% and 80%. The channel industrial makes it possible to produce maize flour, corn couscous, fortified porridge for children as well as livestock feed. La quality is ensured thanks to a controlled particle size of less than 200 microns for flour and between 400 and 1,000 microns for semolina.
uTracer SARL contributes significantly to the economy at
through the creation of 45 direct jobs, 150 casual jobs and more than
500 indirect jobs. More than 200 distribution points are already
operational and the factory's area of influence covers Burkina Faso,
Niger and Mali.
