The work of the 4th meeting of the Coordinating Committee of the Regional Air Transport Development Programme (PRDTA) started on Tuesday, 21 June 2022 in Ouagadougou. The opening ceremony was chaired by the Minister of Transport, Urban Mobility and Road Safety of Burkina Faso, Mahamoudou ZAMPALIGRE.

In his opening speech, the Minister of Burkina Faso wished to “warmly welcome the UEMOA Commission, which played a leading role in, on the one hand, taking initiatives to put in place measures to safeguard, mitigate and respond to this unprecedented health crisis and, on the other hand, to harmonize practices and procedures with a view to relaunching transport in general and air transport in particular.”

For his part, Commissioner SAWADOGO recalled the results achieved by PRDTA since its adoption on 27 June 2002. Indeed, the PRDTA has undertaken actions for the benefit of our region, including the adoption of Community legislation on air transport, assistance or audit missions in member States to raise the level of implementation of safety and security standards in the civil aviation. Aviation experts from the Member States and Commission officials participate in the work ending on 24 June 2022.
