The Supreme Court will not worry Nestlé in a child labor case. Last Thursday the Court put an end to the proceedings initiated on American soil against the American subsidiary of Nestlé, accused of complicity in forced child labor on cocoa plantations in Côte d'Ivoire.

The U.S. Supreme Court does not consider itself competent in the case that accuses Nestlé of complicity in forced child labor on cocoa plantations in Côte d'Ivoire. The case was brought by six Malians who say they were captured in their childhood and then kept in slavery on Ivorian plantations, where the American subsidiary of the Nestlé group and the American giant of the trading and processing of agricultural raw materials Cargill bought cocoa. In 2005, they filed a lawsuit in the United States against Nesté USA and Cargill, arguing that both companies knew what was happening on these farms and turned a blind eye to "maintain a competitive advantage".
