The Togolese Minister of Economy and Finance, Sani Yaya, President of the Council of Ministers chaired the ^1st ordinary session of the Council of Ministers of the West African Monetary Union (UMOA). The work made it possible to resolve the issues related to the economic situation of the Member States and the resumption of activities.

The members of the Council of Ministers examined questions proposed by the BCEAO and the West African Development Bank (BOAD). Under the BCEAO, the Board examined the report on the economic and monetary situation of WAEMU as of December 31, 2021 and proceeded to the approval of the bank's accounts, as well as the allocation of the financial result of the issuing institute for the same period.

Under BOAD, the WAMU Council of Ministers ruled on the minutes of the ordinary session of the WAMU Council of Ministers of December 17, 2021. It also issued opinions on the accounts of the financial year ended December 31, 2021, as well as on the 2021 annual report.
