The disbursements approved by the IMF in favor of Cameroon are part of the seventh review of the economic and financial 2021-2025 program economic and financial 2021-2025, supported through the Extended Credit Facility (FEC) and the Extended Credit Facility (EDC). This financing brings to nearly 824.4 million dollars, for all disbursements received since the launch in 2021 of the Economic and Financial Program between Cameroon and the IMF. This program is based on a series of reforms to strengthen governance, accelerate decentralization and optimize the management of public resources. According to the Cameroonian Minister of Finance, Louis Paul Motaze, with this new installment, Cameroon “reaffirms its commitment to continue the structural transformation of the economy and to deepen reforms, with the support of all technical and financial partners, in order to accelerate economic growth and improve the living conditions of populations
”.In a statement published on Wednesday, the Cameroonian Ministry of Finance welcomed this decision and reaffirmed the government's recognition of the IMF for its financial support and support in the implementation of economic and structural reforms.
