The African Development Bank (ADB) has granted $9.3 million in financing to Madagascar to support the implementation of the Climate Resilience Project for the Preservation of Biodiversity in National Parks (PRCPB), according to a press release from the Malagasy Presidency published on Thursday, April 3, 2025.

Supported by the Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development, in partnership with Madagascar National Parks, this project aims to improve the conservation of six national parks while supporting the local communities that depend on them.

The initiative aims to strengthen systems for the protection and sustainable use of natural resources in order to better adapt the country to the challenges of climate change.

To achieve this, several socio-economic infrastructures will be put in place: schools, health centers, micro-climate stations, rehabilitation of access roads, as well as fodder for the supply of drinking water and solar electrification installations, according to a project document.
