In Mali, gold producing companies paid 835.1 billion FCFA (about 1.4 billion USD) to the Public Treasury in 2024. This is according to a document from the Ministry of Mines quoted by Reuters on Wednesday 9 April. It notes a year-on-year increase of 52.5% compared to fiscal year 2023, when 547.6 billion FCFA

were collected.

The new mining policy established by the Assimi Goïta regime, in particular on gold mining, is already bearing fruit in Mali after the break of relations with France.

Figures recently published by the Department of Mines reflect a dramatic metamorphosis in domestic gold revenues.

And for good reason, in 2024, the Malian state recorded 835.1 billion CFA francs in revenue from companies mining gold, or approximately 1.4 billion dollars, or approximately 1.4 billion dollars, according to data relayed by Reuters.

This financial performance represents a dizzying increase of 52.5% compared to the 547.6 billion FCFA collected in 2023.

This jump in revenue paradoxically comes in a context of a 23% decrease in industrial gold production over the same period.

A striking contrast that underlines the effectiveness of the new legislative framework put in place by the transitional authorities led by Colonel Assimi Goïta, after the break with the former French partner.

This reconfiguration of power relationships automatically generates an increase in dividends and tax revenues paid by companies exploiting the country's gold resources.
