The National Agency for Statistics and Demography (ANSD) announced an increase in industrial production in Senegal.

Industrial production increased by 19.4% in February 2025 compared to February 2024. This increase is mainly selon l' ANSD est attributed to the rise of extractive industries (+60.8%) and, more particularly, to the beginning of oil exploitation in Senegal. In an economic note, ANSD indicated that “in February 2025, industrial production [increased] by 19.4%, compared to that of the same period in 2024”. According to this note, “this evolution is due to the surge in extractive industries (+60.8%), which is mainly due [to the] start of oil extraction

According to the same source, during the first half of 2025, industrial production improved by 24.3%, compared to the corresponding period of 2024.
