An entrepreneurship training workshop, EBT, has been ongoing since Monday, April 28, 2025 in Lagos. The 3-day workshop is organized in favor of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the solar energy sector. This workshop is announced by the Regional Off-grid Electricity Access Project (ROGEAP) implemented by the ECOWAS Commission in partnership with Bookman

Old Style”, Serif">EcoBank Nigeria.

The workshop builds on a similar training course organized in March 2025 in Abuja, where 50 SMEs were equipped with essential skills. For the Lagos edition, ROGEAP and Ecobank are forming 100 SMEs, one of several strategic efforts aimed at building business capacity and accelerating the adoption of autonomous solar solutions in off-grid communities. Since yesterday, participants have been deepening their understanding of the off-grid solar energy value chain, quality assurance standards, environmental and social risk management practices, and the development of viable business models. Over the three days, they will also learn about financial opportunities, including ROGEAP grants and access to credit lines

Les modules abordent un wide range of topics. These include the structure of ROGEAP and its grant opportunities, applications of off-grid solar systems, quality compliance, use of the Business Model Canvas, business expansion strategies, and the operation of ROGEAP credit facilities. Expert trainers from ROGEAP, Ecobank and the entire sector will lead powerful sessions, tailored to the specific challenges and opportunities of

the solar sector.
