As part of a broader strategy to deepen economic cooperation and build on longstanding ties with the Gulf state, Egypt is looking to attract up to $7 billion in new Kuwaiti investment over the next two years. The announcement was made by the CEO of the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones (GAFI ) , Hossam Heiba, during the Investment Forum Egypt-Kuwait held in Cairo

According to Haiba, Egypt needs 300,000 additional hotel rooms and 150,000 additional hospital beds in the coming years, figures that point to significant strategic investment opportunities
