Ghana has reached an agreement with the Italian energy group ENI to increase the supply of natural gas by 30 million standard cubic feet per day starting on July 13, the Ministry of Energy of the West African country announced Wednesday.

The Ministry of Energy and Green Transition has announced a major improvement in Ghana's natural gas supply, following an agreement with ENI to increase production by 30 million standard cubic feet per day (MMSCFd).

As of Sunday, July 13, 2025, ENI's total gas supply will increase to 270 mmSCFD, a measure that the ministry describes as a strategic intervention aimed at strengthening the country's energy infrastructure.

In a statement released on Wednesday, July 9, the ministry revealed that this increase will require a temporary suspension of ENI's gas export operations to give priority to domestic supply.

“This temporary measure is essential to optimize the supply chain and ensure the successful implementation of the increase in supply,” the statement said.
