In Burkina, the Cyber Patrol and Technical Assistance Department of the Central Brigade for Combating Cybercrime (BCLCC) noted during its cyber patrol mission a proliferation of fake Facebook profiles during its cyber patrol mission. A malicious individual would have usurped the identity of the Presidential Initiative “Faso Mêbo”, for the purposes of

fraud.

The National Bureau of Major Projects of Burkina officially launched on 30 June 2025 a personnel recruitment operation on behalf of “Faso Mêbo”, in the regions of Kuilsé, Yaadga, Goulmou and Bankui, in the regions of Kuilsé, Yaadga, Yaadga, Goulmou and Bankui, aroused a strong enthusiasm. The information was published on July 1 on the page Facebook of the Presidency of Faso. The application period took place from 2 to 12 July 2025 and is currently closed

.

According to information from the Cyber Patrol and Technical Assistance Service of the Central Brigade for Combating Cybercrime (BCLCC), candidates are redirected by malicious individuals to a false registration platform, accessible via a fraudulent link, where they are asked to fill out a form. They are then encouraged to pay, by mobile money, the sum of 4,000 FCFA as alleged fees for “patriotic support for

the initiative”.

Many people are victims of it. To this end, the BCLCC invites Internet users to be extremely vigilant and to rely only on official sources for any information concerning the “Faso Mêbo” initiative
