The president of the Association of Insurance and Reinsurance Companies (ASAR), Mwepu Makasa announced the 47th General Assembly that will take place in Kinshasa from 20 to 24 February 2023. According to him, the Federation of African National Insurance Companies (FANAF) wants to promote the maximum exploitation of its potential for shared prosperity.

“ African insurance, how to make the most of its potential for shared prosperity” is the theme around which the five-day meeting will revolve. For Mwepu Makasa, this meeting will allow actors in this sector to discuss several sub-themes including mandatory insurance, the integration of the agricultural world into insurance and the contribution to the development of insurance industries.

According to Mwepu Makasa Vincent, hosting such an event in the DRC will make it possible to promote the insurance market, which will involve exchanges between local and continental players. According to the adviser to the Minister of Finance in charge of insurance, Katasi Kiala Kennedy “the development of the insurance sector is a priority of the Government Jean-Michel Sama Lukonde Kyenge”.
