U A financing of 15 million euros, or nearly 10 billion CFA francs, was granted to the National Bank for Economic Development (BNDE) by l'Agence française de développement ( AfD).

According to Thierno Seydou Nourou Sy, the agreement between the BNDE and the AfD will enable him to better manage four major objectives of the BNDE. These are to facilitate the granting of investment loans to Very Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (SMEs) for projects with strong social-economic and environmental impacts. He also informs that the financing will allow the BNDE to strengthen its capacities and consolidate its position as an inclusive and sustainable public bank in the regions of Matam, Tambacounda, Kédougou, Kolda, Louga, and in other areas according to their needs.

For his part, the managing director of the Bnde informs that this agreement will improve financial inclusion, especially of women, by stimulating and financing the Decentralized Financial Systems (Sfd) sector, especially in rural areas.
